  • How does CGA obtain the jobs posted on its site?
    Through advertising in HR publications and the Bottomline, employers know they can post a job on our website to access quality applicants efficiently.

  • Will CGA send my resume to employers?
    No, CGA does not accept resumes. As a job seeker, it is up to you to forward your resume to potential employers directly.  You may post your profile which allows companies to contact you directly to request your resume.

  • How many jobs are posted on a daily basis?
    This varies depending on the job market.  There are typically around 100 current postings on the job board.

  • Do employers actually contact CGA to confirm that I am registered?
    Yes, we receive calls almost daily from employers asking for information on members and students who have applied for positions within their organization.  CGA is required by RAPA to tell the employer only whether the student or member is an active or inactive member of the Association.  Employers may also find this information for members only by selecting
    Find A Member.

  • How often can I update my profile?
    As often as you wish. If you do not update your profile within a 6-month timeframe it will not appear for employers to see.

  • Who can see my profile?
    Only registered employers can view your profile. Other students and CGAs cannot see it.

  • How long can my profile description be?
    We recommend that your profile description include less than 4000 characters.

  • Can I remove my profile from all listings?
    Yes. Simply select Profile > Edit your ERS profile information, under Allow companies to see my profile, select No.

  • Are my name and e-mail posted on my profile?
    No. Your profile is completely anonymous to the employer. No contact information is directly displayed to the employers.

  • My profile has been displayed for a long time. Why have I not had any requests from employers?
    Perhaps your profile is not current. Please ensure you update your profile and e-mail address so employers can view your current information.   If you have not included a paragraph to highlight your skills/strengths be sure to do so.  Employers need to have a sense of who you are and what you can offer them.

  • How often are jobs posted on the site?
    Jobs are posted on a daily basis. We post within 24 hours of receiving the information.

  • For how long are jobs posted?
    The postings are scheduled to run for six weeks. At the end of the six weeks an automatic reminder is sent to the employer asking whether the posting should be extended. The job will be posted for more than six weeks only upon the employer’s request.

    The employment referral area is the most-accessed area of our website which demonstrates its popularity.  It is accessible to over 7,000 CGAs and students in the CGA program of professional studies.

  • How do I register?
    Click the First-time Registration? link on the left hand side of the page (velow the login box).  Fill in your company contact information and select a CGA ERS user name and password (please save this information because you will use it to access the system in the future).
    Submit your contact information. You will now be in your company home page.

  • How do I post a job opportunity?
    After you have registered for the first time, Click on Post A Job. Enter the position details and submit for approval by CGA.  Your position will be made public within 1 business day.

  • Where can I obtain applicants’ resumes?
    Select Current Profiles to search your criteria.  From the list of candidates returned, select VIEW to preview an applicant's profile.  To request a resume from the applicant, click Submit Resume Request at the bottom of the profile page.

  • You create your own unique company user name and password.

  • Why can't I post my job?
    If you have problems posting your job, check your
    browser/cookie settings. For additional assistance contact hireacga@cga-alberta.org.

  • If my position has been filled can I remove the posting?
    Yes.  Select Profile, click to View current postings and click the REMOVE link on the posting.

  • If my position has not been filled can I renew the posting?
    Yes. Select Profile, click View current postings and click the RENEW link on the posting. Charges may apply.

  • Is there a limit to the length of my job posting?
    We recommend that you include no more than 4000 characters in your description.
