Welcome New CGA Students

Congratulations on becoming a CGA student. Your new status as a student with CGA Alberta offers you a variety of unique benefits which you will find as you look through the information listed in the Student Tab.

Below you will find information to help you get started in the CGA professional certification program.  If you have any questions or concerns, our helpful staff is willing to assist you. 

Have a question but not sure who to contact?

Easy to remember email addresses have been setup for the following:

These mail boxes are monitored regularly by several staff ensuring your questions are answered in the shortest time possible.

What's important for you to do?

Research has proven that students who have an academic plan tend to be more successful in their program.  Please take this opportunity to review your program requirements and plan how you wish to proceed for the year.  You may review your individual requirements under the Web Advisor on My CGA Profile or by reviewing the information sent to you in your initial Transcript Evaluation.

  • Read your Student Handbook for all polices for which you are held responsible as a CGA student
  • Please be aware of your program expiry date.  It is important that students complete a minimum of 2 courses a year to complete the program within the proper deadlines
  • Keep all contact information current.  We will often use e-mail to contact students.  Please check your email security settings to ensure CGA Alberta will reach you
  • Access the website often and check the Student Bulletin Board for news and updates important to CGA students
  • Always read the e-Advocate (your monthly newsletter) for current events and Association news
  • If you are in public practice and if you have not done so yet, please contact publicaccounting@cga-alberta.org

Overview of Online Services

Through My CGA Profile students have immediate access online, anytime, to the following services and information:

  • View current and past information regarding courses and exams listed on your personal CGA record as well as access your student tax receipt and shipping/transaction history
  • Update your contact information with the Association or change your CGA Alberta secure login password
  • Access online services that allow you to enroll in courses and exams, order course materials, link you to your Practical Experience Assessment Questionnaire (PEAQ), and much more!
