When members receive their dues invoice, they will be asked to make a small donation to support the CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation.

The Foundation is a registered charitable organization established by CGA Alberta to:

       provide scholarships to students in the CGA Program, and;

       conduct, fund and promote research in the field of accounting, commerce, and related public policy issues of general benefit and interest to the community.

Formed in 2004, the Research and Education Foundation assumed the responsibilities of the Scholarship Trust. There are a number of possible new research initiatives under consideration. But the most important research project to date has been the exciting, new multi-year Vision 2020 partnership with the Alberta Chambers of Commerce.

Vision 2020 is a broad-based, multi-year research partnership launched in 2004 by CGA Alberta and the Alberta Chambers of Commerce. The project is aimed at better understanding the trends that are forming the foundation for Alberta's future, and offers insight into the available options policy makers have to deal with the challenges facing Alberta over the next twenty years. The feedback from media, MLAs, and think tanks about the report has been very positive. Significant media coverage and positive exposure for the CGA brand resulted from the launch of this latest phase of Vision 2020.
