CGA Students

Level 1 - PACE Level

Karen Callender Memorial Bursary (CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation) - Valued at $1500 and available annually to a registered CGA student who has completed a minimum of one CGA course with a final mark of 70% or higher, resides in Alberta, and is in need of financial assistance. Preference is given to single parents.

Applications should be received by July 31 of each year.

  

Elite Fleet Courier Corporate Business Award
(In partnership with CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation) - This $1000 scholarship will recognize a CGA Alberta student that obtains the highest mark in three CGA courses in one academic year.  

*Should there be a tie, the scholarship will be awarded to the student with highest mark in the last course taken. 


Level 1 -4

TelPay Business Award (In partnership with CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation)- $750 to a CGA Alberta student that is also a full-time post-secondary student with the highest marks in Level 1-3 and two courses from Level 4.

*Should there be a tie, the award will be given to the student with the highest mark in FA3.

Award of Excellence (CGA Canada) - A $1,000 cash award to the CGA students in Canada who have achieved the highest average mark in each of levels 1 to 4 and meet other established criteria.

Levels 1 to 4 Tuition Scholarships (CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation) - Each in the amount of $1500 to the CGA student in Alberta receiving the highest average standing by examination in each Level.


PACE Level

 

Miller Thomson LLP Tax Award of Excellence  
(In partnership with CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation) - This $500 award will recognize a CGA Alberta student who has completed Level 4 of the program and hold, or be registered in, a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Management degree and obtained the highest mark in Tax 1 and Accounting Theory 1.

*Should there be a tie, the award will be given to the student who has the highest mark in AU1.

Award of Excellence (CGA Canada) - A $1,500 cash award, to the student who achieves the highest average mark, at their first time of writing, in the PACE Level course examinations.

ENCON Group Inc. Insurance Public Practice Award (CGA Canada) - A $5,000 cash award to the student receiving the highest average mark, at the first time of writing, for AU2 and TX2.

The Carswell Taxation Award (CGA Canada) -  A cash award and a personalized copy of the Income Tax Act to the student achieving the highest mark, at the first time of writing, in the TX2 examination.

Evancic Perrault Robertson Calgary (EPR) Scholarship of Excellence (In partnership with CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation) - Canada's largest CGA firm, EPR annually awards $500 to the CGA student or new graduate in Alberta who obtains the highest average in the public practice stream. The scholarship is awarded based on the highest marks obtained by an individual in both AU2 and TX2 on the first time writing of the examinations. Candidates must be employed in public practice to be eligible.

The Duncan Sabine Collyer Partners (DSCP) Innovation Award (In partnership with CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation) - $500 is available to the student or new graduate in Alberta who achieves the highest average mark in the information technology stream of the CGA Program of Professional Studies.  The scholarship will be awarded based on the average of the highest marks by an individual in FA4, MS2 and MU1 on the first time writing of the examinations.

* Should there be a tie, the scholarship will be awarded to the student who has the highest mark in MU1 and should there still be a tie the scholarship will be awarded to the student who has the highest mark in both MU1 and MS2.

Porter Hétu International Award (CGA Canada) - $1,500 to the CGA student in Canada who obtained the highest final course mark in Auditing 2 and a standing of honours in the Professional Applications 1 examination.  The scholarship is awarded based on the highest marks obtained on the first time writing of the examinations. To qualify for the award, a candidate must have chosen the public practice career option (including Taxation 2). If there is a tie between two candidates, the winner will be determined by the course mark of Taxation 2.

Robert Half Canada Business Leader Award (In partnership with CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation) - $1000 award to recognize a new student with a business degree who receives the highest mark on their first CGA national exam (must be Level 4 or PACE exam).

*Should there be a tie, the award will be given to the student with the highest mark in FA3.

JAZZ-it! Business Award (In partnership with CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation) - A $1000 award to the CGA student or graduate in Alberta achieving the highest mark, at the first time of writing, in FA4, FN2, and MS2 or MU1 examinations. 

*Should there be a tie, the award will be given to the student who has the highest mark in MS2.


CGA Graduates

Meloche Monnex Award of Excellence (In partnership with CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation) - A $500 award to the CGA graduate in Alberta who achieves the highest average in the professional level of the CGA program.

Meloche Monnex Achievement Award  (In partnership with CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation) - A $500 award to the CGA graduate in Alberta who completes the program in two years (from time of enrolling as a CGA student) and achieves the highest average in the professional level of the CGA program.

CGA Award of Distinction (CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation) - Awarded to the CGA graduate in Alberta who has achieved the highest average in the professional level. The award includes an expense paid trip to the CGA Convocation and Banquet as well as a framed Certificate of Excellence.
