CGA Program Overview
The CGA Program of Professional Studies integrates three key requirements in designating professional accountants: education, examination and experience. The education component encompasses both the degree requirement and CGA curriculum. Examinations are the certification aspect of the Program that verifies each candidate has the competencies required of a professional accountant in today's market. The experience requirement ensures that newly designated CGAs have relevant experience through increasing responsibilities.
The Association is recognized internationally as a leading developer and provider of competency-based professional accounting education that integrates ethics, information technology and the best methods of distance learning.
General course and program details can be found in the syllabus published by CGA-Canada. For information on how to join CGA click on Get Started.
The history of the Program and its evolution, from small local classes to a comprehensive, interactive online distance education program delivered internationally, is evidence of almost a century-long commitment to provide open access to professional accounting education of the highest calibre.
