Computer Requirements & Tutorials
Upon entering the CGA Program you must have access to, and familiarity with, computers, Microsoft Office and the Internet. You are also required to own or have access to a computer that meets CGA requirements. You are expected to devote twenty (20) or more hours a week to your studies and will use the computer for a significant amount of that time.
To ensure that you are able to use your equipment and the software provided, the Association has prepared a series of self-study computer tutorials. The tutorials provide the fundamentals of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel and Accpac.
The tutorials cover the following topics:
CT1 Windows Basics (Windows 98, 2000 Professional and Millennium (ME))
CT2 Spreadsheets Using Microsoft Excel
CT3 Accounting Using Accpac
If you are unfamiliar with basic computer functions and concepts (i.e. file management, directory structure, memory types, systems files, etc.) or are an inexperienced user of the software applications (Excel and Accpac), you should review and complete these tutorials before commencing Level 2.
Anticipate spending ten (10) to twelve (12) hours for each tutorial based on your previous experience with the topics covered. These self-study tutorials require no examination.
