Exam Centres

CGA Alberta has "Established" Exam Centres in several cities throughout Alberta:
  • Calgary
  • Edmonton
  • Red Deer
  • Lethbridge
  • Medicine Hat
  • Fort McMurray

If a student does not reside within one of these communities, but is within 100 kilometers of one of these centres, the student is encouraged to write at an "established" exam centre.  If a CGA student is unable to write at an "established" exam centre they may write their examinations at a "miscellaneous" exam centre that is a location of the student's choosing and the student must provide a suitable supervisor approved by CGA Alberta.

NOTE:  PA1 and PA2 exams MUST  be written at an "established" exam centre.

Miscellaneous Examination Centre

If you write at a Miscellaneous Examination Centre, you must arrange for your own supervisor.  An examination supervisor must be a CGA, CMA or CA and relatives are not permitted to supervise an examination.  Any examination supervisor fees are your responsibility.

The Miscellaneous Exam Centre Form can be found here.  This form must be completed in its entirety for each examination session.  Also required is the Supervisor Attestation.  Both forms must be returned to the office one month prior to the exam date to ensure that your supervisor receives the examination package in time.

If you reside in another province or miscellaneous area, you are encouraged to write at a regular examination centre, if possible, and should indicate this on the form.

The Association will pay all related courier costs for exams sent within Alberta.

Students writing examinations outside of Alberta and Canada are responsible for payment of all examination related shipping costs.  On the examination request form you will be asked to give a credit card number for these shipping costs.  You will then be responsible to pay courier costs for the return of your examination to the CGA office.  The exam must be received by the office no later than five days after the exam has been written.

Exception:  The PA1 and PA2 examinations may not be written under special exam supervision.  They must be written at a designated CGA exam centre.
