Qualifying

NOTE:  It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that they qualify (QTR) to write a CGA national exam.  CGA Alberta does not issue notices regarding qualification and if CGA national exam is written and the student "did not qualify" (DNQ), the examination will not be marked.

Failure to qualify for a CGA national exam is deemed equivalent to failing the course and a "Did Not Qualify" (DNQ) will be recorded on the student CGA transcript.  A DNQ will count as one of the three academic attempts allowed per course.

CGA national exams must be written in the exam session immediately following course completion and must be written on the date and time scheduled.  a CGA student that qualifies to write a CGA exam but does not write, or defer, the exam will be awarded an Elect-to-Re-enrol (ETR) status - an ETR does not count as an academic attempt; however, the CGA student will be required to re-enroll in the course (onus of cost is on the student) and re-qualify for the CGA national exam.
