Cancellation & Withdrawal

Cancellation & Withdrawal

CGA would like to remind students cancelling a course does not count as an attempt at the course.

Students needing to cancel a course may do so prior to the first day of the beginning of the session.

If the materials have not yet been shipped, the student will receive a course refund minus a processing fee.

If the materials have been shipped, the student will receive a course refund minus a processing fee and a materials return fee.

When returning course materials, please do so via Canada Post, using the trackable option.

CGA would also like to remind students dropping a course does not count as an attempt at the course.
Once a course has commenced on the first day of the session, students still have an opportunity to drop a course prior to the drop deadline and still receive a partial refund.

Elect to Re-Enroll (ETR) does not count as an attempt at the course.

Students may Elect To Re-enroll (ETR) by the ETR deadline.  There is NO refund provided for an ETR. No course, enrollment, or tution fees will transfer to the next course enrollment.

If a student does not complete one of the 3 above methods of withdrawing from a course by the deadlines, and the student does not complete all assignments, online discussions and/or quizzes, the student will receive a DNQ (Did Not Qualify) status for the course and the course will count as one of the three allowable attempts.

Withdrawal Deadlines

All withdrawal deadlines are listed under the Enrollment Deadlines section.

Your request is complete only when you receive the transaction summary page which lists applicable fees and courses.  Your transaction summary acts as your confirmation unless the Association notifies you.

Refunds processed through your checkout can be put back onto your credit card by following these steps:

  • Enter your credit card number, expiry date and payment method (i.e. VISA or MC) in the appropriate fields.
  • Click on 'Submit Payment Information'.

Any refunds by cheque may take up to six weeks for processing.  If you are not the original payer, you must forward the funds to the appropriate party.

Repeating a Course

If you are repeating the course within the same academic year, you can reuse the materials as long as there have been no material changes.

If you are repeating a course in a different academic year, you can reuse the textbooks as long as there have been no changes.  However, the Lesson Notes and/or Readings will change from year to year.

Please refer to Course Materials listing to determine if you require updated materials.
