Cancellation & Withdrawal

CGA students have three opportunities each session to remove themselves from a course they have enrolled in. Deadlines for each of the following forms of withdrawal are located under Important Dates.

All the forms of withdrawal do not count as one of your three allowable attempts at the course.

For PACE level courses, if you fail to complete necessary course requirements and do not process one of the above forms of course withdrawal by the stated deadlines, you will receive a DNQ (Did Not Qualify) as your final grade. A DNQ (Did Not Qualify) is not eligible for any refund of course fees and counts as one of your three allowable attempts at the course.

COURSE CANCELLATION
If you need to cancel your course enrollment prior to the first day of the relevant session, you can do so online through My CGA Profile by clicking on the "Withdrawal" tab and selecting "Withdraw from a CGA/LU/SAIT IT course".

A course cancellation is eligible for a full refund of course fees less an administrative fee. Your refund can be processed on your credit card through your "Checkout" once you have submitted your online request.

You are not permitted to move your course to another session or switch your enrollment in one course to another within the same session - you must cancel your enrollment if you will be unable to begin the course you enrolled in.

COURSE WITHDRAWAL
Once your course has started, you have the opportunity to withdraw from the course online through My CGA Profile by clicking on the "Withdrawal" tab and selecting "Withdraw from a CGA/LU/SAIT IT course".

There are two course withdrawal deadlines per session:

  1. During the second week of the session, you may withdraw from your course with a partial refund of the course fees you initially paid.
  2. Until the sixth week of your course, you may still withdraw from your course but with no refund of the course fees you initially paid. It is important that you process your refund or the $0 balance in your "Checkout" because only once you have will your withdrawal from your course be completed.

You are not permitted to move your course to another session or switch your enrollment in one course to another within the same session - you must withdraw if you are unable to complete the course you started.

Your course withdrawl is complete only when you receive the transaction summary page which lists applicable fees and courses.  Your transaction summary acts as your confirmation unless the Association notifies you.

Refunds processed through your checkout can be put back onto your credit card by following these steps:

  • Enter your credit card number, expiry date and payment method (i.e. VISA or MC) in the appropriate fields.
  • Click on 'Submit Payment Information'.

Any refunds by cheque may take up to six weeks for processing.  If you are not the original payer, you must forward the funds to the appropriate party.
