CGA Alberta recognizes extraordinary members who contribute greatly to the profession, to the community and to the Association. CGAs who exemplify the values of the Association - integrity, excellence, and leadership in all of their endeavors are recognized by the Association with the following awards:The Fellowship Award
The Fellowship Award is the highest award presented by the Association. It is awarded annually to a select group of members who have made contributions that go beyond normal professional commitments. Members are nominated for the award by their provincial, territorial or regional CGA association. Nominees must have demonstrated exemplary service or brought distinction to the profession in at least two of the following areas:
- Service to CGA-Canada or a provincial, territorial or regional association for a period of at least five years
- Service to a trade, industry or other professional organization related to the member's career or business activities
- Service to community, political or not-for-profit organizations
- Contributions to the profession through research, teaching, writing or speaking on professional issues
- Prominence in business, political, academic or international endeavors.
Those members chosen to receive the FCGA designation exemplify achievement, dedication and the highest standards of professionalism.

CGA Alberta Life Membership
The CGA Alberta Life Membership was created to recognize exceptional CGA members who have raised the profile and value of the CGA designation through their participation in community and business activities.
The Award is presented to a Member who holds an FCGA. The profile of the designation must be raised by this individual over a period of at least 10 years through their participation in community activities, business activities, or within the Association so long as these activities have directly or indirectly raised the profile and value of the CGA designation.

CGA Alberta Distinguished Service Award
This award was created to encourage and reinforce members in the contribution of their specific knowledge to projects that the Association has underway. The CGA Alberta Distinguished Service Award may be granted by the Executive Director on an annual basis. The CGA Alberta Board of Governors establishes the award's criteria and eligibility.
The demonstration of distinguished service to CGA Alberta may include:
Dedication - ongoing participation and contribution on a specific task prescribed by CGA Alberta.
Leadership - assumption of significant responsibility in the task prescribed by CGA Alberta.
Effort and Results - CGA Alberta's success in achieving its goals and objectives must have been enhanced in the initiative or project.

John Leslie Award
The John Leslie Award, created in honour of CGA-Canada's founder and first president, was designed to recognize the achievements of exceptional CGAs. It is given to a member who has achieved national recognition for exceptional service to business, the community, politics and the arts, or who has overcome physical adversity. Such recognition is responsive to current accomplishments permitting an adequate public relations acknowledgement.
The John Leslie Award will be presented to one individual per year, although not necessarily every year.
Nominations may be submitted by the CGA-Canada Executive Committee; any individual member in good standing of the Association; any member of the public or any representative of a community group, business association, educational body, private company or corporation.
