CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2007 CGA ALBERTA HONOURS AND AWARDS RECIPIENTS
Level Scholarships
The CGA Alberta Research and Education Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization mandated to fund research in community relevant accounting and public policy issues. The Foundation grants 15 Post-secondary scholarships along with the President's Award of Distinction, presented at the New Member Ceremony. This year's recipients of the Level Scholarships have demonstrated a dedication and commitment that deserves recognition. Scholarships awarded from Level 1 through 4 distinguish the highest average of the 2006/ 2007 academic year. CGA Alberta is proud to introduce the following Level Scholarship Award winners:

Top Ten Awards
Every year, CGA Alberta formally recognizes the 'Top Ten' New Members for their outstanding achievement. In order to be considered for this award, new CGAs must have completed all requirements for certification, written a minimum of four CGA exams, passed all CGA examinations on the first writing and achieved the highest average mark of three PACE level examinations with the exception of PA1. CGA Alberta is proud to recognize the following top ten members:

Canada Top Ten
Two of the CGA Alberta Top Ten graduates were also included in the Canadian Top Ten. Congratulations to Ramona Bortnowschi and Ryan Premak.
TD Meloche Monnex Achievement Award
The TD Meloche Monnex Achievement Award is presented to the CGA graduate in Alberta who completes the program in two years and achieves the highest average at the PACE level. The 2007 recipient is Ning He.
Robert Half Canada Business Leader Award
The Robert Half Canada Business Leader Award recognizes a new CGA student with a business degree who receives the highest mark on their first CGA Level 4 or PACE-level national exam. We are pleased to announce that Yuan Li is this year's recipient.
Evancic Perrault Robertson Calgary(EPR) Scholarship of Excellence
The Evancic Perrault Robertson Calgary (EPR) Scholarship of Excellence is awarded annually to the Alberta student or new graduate attaining the highest mark in both Auditing 2 and Tax 2 courses on the first-time writing. The 2007 EPR Scholarship of Excellence was presented to Anita Rowe.
Duncan Sabine Collyer Partners (DSCP) Innovation Award
The Duncan Sabine Collyer Partners (DSCP) Innovation Award recognizes the Alberta CGA student or new graduate achieving the highest mark in the information technology stream of the CGA program. The 2007 Duncan Sabine Collyer Partners Innovation Award was presented to Hideliza Sarmiento.
JAZZ-it! Business Award
The JAZZ-it! Business Award is presented to the CGA student with the highest average in the Commerce/Financial Institutions stream of the CGA Program of Professional Studies. This year's recipient is Songyun Rui.
Elite Fleet Courier Corporate Business Award
The Elite Fleet Courier Corporate Business Award recognizes the outstanding CGA Alberta student who obtains the highest mark in three CGA courses in one academic year. This year's winner is Mushtaq Ahmad.
Miller Thomson LLP Award of Excellence
The Miller Thomson Award of Excellence recognizes an outstanding CGA Alberta student who has completed Level 4 of the CGA program and a business degree, or registered in a business degree program, and obtains the highest mark in Tax 1 and Accounting Theory 1. The 2007 recipient is Joanna Szeto.
TelPay Business Award
The Tel-Pay Business Award recognizes an outstanding CGA Alberta student who is also a full-time post-secondary student with the highest marks in Levels 1 - 3 and two courses from Level 4 of the CGA program. The 2007 recipient is Valerie Greenwood.
President's Award of Distinction
The President's Award of Distinction is presented to the new CGA member obtaining the highest average in the final two levels of the program. CGA Alberta is proud to recognize Margarita Volkova, CGA as the 2007 CGA Alberta President's Award of Distinction recipient and the 2007 valedictorian. Margarita was also a CGA Alberta Top Ten award winner.
